Chris - Piano

Chris was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and raised in Charlotte. He discovered his love for music at the age of seven, growing up in a family full of singers and musicians. Chris honed his skills through YouTube and other online platforms, performing in churches and even at a Bobcats game with his middle school choir.

In high school, he was accepted into the Northwest School of the Arts for vocal performance and piano. During his time there, he studied jazz piano, sang tenor, baritone, and bass, and performed with the jazz ensemble. His choir received high marks in Music Performance Adjudication (MPA), and he also performed in a variety of bands spanning pop, gospel, and jazz.

Chris continued his musical journey at Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina, pursuing an undergraduate degree in music education and performance. As an undergrad, he learned to teach piano, voice, and low brass instruments, while performing in solo piano concerts, jazz trios, big band sections, and marching with the Livingstone Blue Bear Marching Band.

Since graduating, Chris has worked as a private instructor for piano and voice, performs in over five bands, and serves as Music Director at his local church. His passion for music has evolved from personal love for the art to a dedication to teaching and inspiring the next generation of musicians to excel in their craft.
