Ginny - Piano, Voice

Ginny is a proud North Carolina native, born and raised right here in Charlotte. Her musical journey began when she was old enough to carry a tune and started singing lullabies to her siblings. Coming from a family of nine kids, there was always someone to sing to! She began taking piano lessons at eight years old and has never stopped playing. As a high school student, she competed in piano competitions throughout the Charlotte area, receiving both district and state recognition.

Ginny has also been involved in choirs for as long as she can remember, from children’s choirs to community ensembles. While the piano was her first love, her most recent musical obsession has been the organ! She has been playing the organ for about seven years and currently serves as a choir director and organist at a local church.

Ginny holds a bachelor’s degree in music with a focus in organ from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. During her time at UNCC, she accompanied fellow students, served as a student conductor for the chorale program, and held leadership positions in the women’s chorus.

Ginny has been teaching piano off and on since she was 13, working with students ranging from beginners to adults. She feels incredibly blessed to share her love of music with others and is passionate about giving her students a strong foundation in musical fundamentals while also helping them explore music that is enjoyable, engaging, and appropriately challenging.

Outside of music, Ginny enjoys playing pickleball, crocheting, spending time with family and friends, and embracing her favorite role of all: auntie to her nieces and nephews.
