Shayna’s love of music began early in her life. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, she grew up surrounded by music—whether it was listening to her uncle’s mixtapes or attending her brother’s violin concerts, music was always part of her world. She began playing the violin at the age of five and continued throughout high school. Shayna was the youngest child in a family that loved music and art, and this early exposure led her to play the alto saxophone throughout middle school, as well as perform in several show choirs.

Now, Shayna is studying accounting at UNCC, and while she doesn’t perform as frequently today, her appreciation for music remains a meaningful part of who she is. Her creative focus has since expanded into painting, where she continues to express her love of the arts and the joy of creating.

As part of the Learn Music team, Shayna brings her creative spirit and a genuine love for helping others. She’s excited to support students and families and to be part of a community that celebrates learning, creativity, and the joy of music.
